US PRESIDENT ELECT Barak Obama has begun to debate the contentious issue of Guantanamo Bay.
Members of Barak Obama’s team have stressed that no decisions have been made on the issue as yet.
However, in broad terms the idea appears to be to abandon military tribunals.
A new trial system for prisoners at the facility would be set up within the US instead and renewed efforts would be made to find countries willing to take released prisoners.
