Portugal’s infrastructure authority (IP) has announced it is launching a tender for the €13 million renovation of the Guadiana Bridge between Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte, in Spain.
Once a construction company has been chosen, work should take around a year-and-a-half to complete, and IP guarantees that traffic will not be cut off.
Both countries’ governments have agreed to share the cost of the overhaul, which comes over 20 years since the bridge was built.
