A survey has shown that 52 is the age at which British people start to become officially grumpy.
A poll of 2,000 British people, carried out by cable television channel Dave, found that those over the age of 50 laughed considerably less than those under 50.
It was also shown that the over 50s were also found to complain far more and that men are grumpier than women.
Infants laugh up to 300 times per day but by the time a person reaches their teens this has dropped to six times a day, while for those over 60 only 2.5 laughs are had each day.
There is no surprise that the laughter levels are so low though, as the survey also showed that the average Briton only knows two jokes.
