Airport handling entity Groundforce Portugal doesn’t have the money to pay its staff salaries this month, but is in the process of organising a bank loan. According to a statement from the company’s administrative council, the company is “living in times of enormous difficulty” due to the limited number of flights as a result of the pandemic. The money to pay 2,398 staff salaries should be made available within the next two weeks – at which point Groundforce hopes to be sending out cheques.
