Ground searches have been wound down in the immediate vicinity of Praia da Luz.
Days of intense searches, usually involving dog teams, have failed to produce anything tangible that would help the authorities with the investigation.
Residents and locals, however, have not given up and have told The Resident, that they will continue as long as they can in the search for little Madeleine.
Microlights flown by volunteers are continuing to scour the landscape and cliffs around Praia da Luz, some areas that cannot be accessed on foot or by dogs and other areas that are overgrown and inhospitable.
