Earlier this month it was the severed head of an unknown woman discovered in a plastic bag near a popular beach (click here), this time it is a decomposed male fetus found on a municipal rubbish dump.
The grisly find was called into authorities on Thursday at 10pm as workers at the Amarsul dump in Seixal were effecting what is known as the ‘triage phase’.
According to one report, the bag the fetus was in “opened up as a machine started to treat the waste material”.
The fetus was in an advanced stage of decomposition thus tests are now being performed to try and establish cause of death.
Say reports, it will be difficult to work out where the bag will have come from as the dump takes waste from many different areas (namely Alcochete, Almada, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela, Seixal, Sesimbra and Setúbal).
Investigations may never ‘discover the truth’. Certainly the severed head story, from Matosinhos, has gone extremely quiet, with no updates to indicate authorities are any closer to discovering the dead woman’s identity (click here).
