A NEW resort to be developed in Castro Marim has created an environmental plan, which is currently being reviewed, to lessen its impact on the local environment and populations.
The Corte Real resort, which will comprise of villas, an 18 hole golf course and 2,100 beds, has proposed to create a social and environmental fund attributing 0.5 per cent of its revenue to it. This contribution could reach three million euros in the first 10 years, with 60 per cent of this being applied in the freguesia of Azinhal, the closest population to be affected by the resort.
