Green hydrogen plant in Sines “could attract €1.6 billion in investment”

Plans for establishing Sines as the centre of a ‘green hydrogen cluster’ have just seen the government update expectations for attracting investment.

Says Expresso, the €600 million announced in November (click here) has suddenly become a possible €1.6 billion. Legislation is currently being discussed.

Dutch renewables entrepreneur Marc Rechter is behind the scheme which envisages a collaborative effort between Portugal and Holland, supported by EU funding. Further details expected shortly.
