Six graffiti vandals were caught by a night security guard near Praia da Batata in Lagos spraying the walls of the sailing club and sidewalks near the São Gonçalo statue in the viewpoint. Two escaped and the remaining four were later identified by the PSP police and are now facing fines or even up to three years in prison.
The group of youngsters, in their 20s, were interrupted by the night guard who immediately detained the individual who was spray-painting at the time. Two members of the group escaped carrying the paint cans and evading identification by the police, who were called to the site by the night guard.
