A number of Tavira shops will be selling their products at lower prices during a fair takingplace until September 1 in the town’s Rua do Cais from 7pm to 11.30pm.
Entrance to the 5th Feira de Stocks is free and the initiative aims to attract a large number of shoppers for the variety of items on sale, such as clothing, accessories and jewellery, at bargain prices.
Organised by the Associação Baixa de Tavira, the fair also represents a much-needed boost for participating local businesses, which are affected by the decline in consumer purchasing power.
Each night from 10pm, there will be street entertainment, such as concerts and dance shows, at Praça da República.
