The government’s ‘closer government’ initiative, involving meetings of the Council of Ministers in different locations, has been met with angry protests today in Braga. Organised by the Union of Braga Syndicates, those in the crowd holding up messages, were from ‘various sectors’, say reports (principally education, justice, commerce and textile/ metallurgy industries) – all of them calling for much more to be done to help citizens through the cost of living (inflationary) crisis. According to SIC, the dark caravan of government vehicles swept past protestors, none of them stopping to engage.
