Government will take further measures “if drought worsens”

With long-range weather forecasts pointing to no likely rainfall before the summer (when there is generally no rainfall at all), environment minister Duarte Cordeiro has admitted that the government may have to impose ‘further restrictions’, dependent on whether the drought worsens (no rainfall suggests worsening drought). Says SIC Notícias today: “the government admits to limiting water consumption”, in districts most affected already (by severe drought), namely: the Algarve, Évora, Beja and Setúbal.
