Government prolongs public consultation period for polemic “Mais Habitação” programme

The ministry of Habitation has announced a week’s extension of the public consultation period on the government’s polemic “Mais Habitação” (More Housing) programme. Instead of ending on Monday (March 13), it will now end on Monday March 20, with final approval of what will almost certainly have to be an amended document by the Council of Ministers on Friday March 24. The extension period has been requested by the national association of municipalities which reacted in frustration when the programme was first trailed as local councils had not been consulted.
