Government pays back parishes for Covid-19 expenses

The government is returning the money spent by 795 parishes in Portugal in 2020 to contain and limit the Covid-19 pandemic. The contracts between the Directorate-General for Local Authorities and the parishes have already begun to be signed.

The “Supporting Parishes” program, with €4.3 million, fully reimburses expenses related to medical equipment and devices, personal protective equipment, tests, laboratory analyses, and other diagnostic tools, medicine, emergency assistance to vulnerable populations, among other measures taken to tackle and contain the pandemic.
