Government dispatch announces hiring of another 2,474 health professionals – the majority nurses

Marking International Nurses Day today, the government has published a dispatch allowing for the hiring of 2,474 health professionals, the majority of them (1,366) nurses. Honouring nurses for their ‘tireless work’ during the pandemic, prime minister António Costa said on his official site that they have been “truly decisive in the process of recovery in all those who contracted Covid-19”, and are now being just as decisive as Portugal rolls out its vaccination campaign.
