Government ‘climbs down’ from blanket expropriation of Odemira’s ZMar eco-resort

With the direct involvement in this controversy now of President Marcelo, the government (for this read Ministry of Internal Administration) has hastily come off its high horse and admitted that ‘of course, people living in homes of their own on the ZMar eco-resort will not be turfed out of them’ following the State’s ‘requisition’ of the site (click here). Immigrants that are asymptomatic and positive for SARS-CoV-2 will be housed in the Pousada da Juventude de Almograve and Odemira’s Residência de Estudantes, while up to 120 could be lodged temporarily in parts of ZMar that are not owned by private people.
