The Good Time Jazz Band has confirmed it will return to the Lagos Cultural Centre as part of the Lagos Jazz Festival 2004. With a programme of mainly modern jazz, the Good Time Jazz Band will go back to the beginning of jazz and play syncopated 20s and 30s classic jazz standards and popular music. The band start the concert programme on August 11 at 9pm.
Meanwhile, last week saw the start of a new venture at Hotel O Serrinho, a delightful country hotel in Messines de Baixo, between Messines and Alte/Paderne. The Good Time Jazz Band were invited to play poolside open-air jazz on Sunday afternoons. Such was the success of the event that the band have been booked to play Sunday concerts throughout August, from 1pm to 4pm.
