Animal protection association PRAVI is celebrating the granting of a plot of land by the Albufeira municipal authority for the construction of a rescue centre with a major fun-filled event on Saturday, September 21 at the EMA pavilion at 2pm.
The 3,000sqm plot of land will see the creation of the first Albufeira animal rescue centre, which will also include an animal assisted therapy centre. A public presentation of the project will be held during the event, which is open to all who wish to support the cause.
Organisers promise a fun-filled day out for all families as there will be entertainment for children, including clowns, face painting and inflatables, as well as demonstrations of fitness classes for adults including Zumba, Body Combat and Power Jump. A ‘mini spinning marathon’ will also be held to raise funds for the project.
Another initiative to be presented on the day is a major neutering campaign being developed between PRAVI and German Foundation ETN which will attempt to sterilise all stray animals roaming the streets of Albufeira.
PRAVI was founded in 2007 and introduced animal assisted therapies in Portugal.
Attendance is free but a donation towards the animal shelter project will be requested.
