The Starwood Hotels & Resorts group is organising the Portugal Charity Golf Tour 2013 for the sixth successive year with the aim of raising funds for the UNICEF ‘Schools for Africa’ project.
Under the motto “Three events, one cause” the Tour teed off on the Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course in Portimão last weekend and will enjoy its second leg tomorrow (Saturday) when the exclusive Sheraton Pine Cliffs course near Albufeira is the venue.
The concluding event of this year’s charity drive is then scheduled to take place at the Sheraton Lisbon Hotel & Spa Belas Clube de Campo which will also feature the prize-giving and cheque presentation ceremonies. Last year’s initiative saw a total of 140 players raise €6,800 for the UNICEF ‘Road to Awareness’ project and it is hoped that the current ‘cause’ will be just as successful.
