The annual golf tournament at Boavista Golf, Lagos on January 21 raised around 10,000 euros for the Algarve-based animal charity, The Hope Fund.
The Hope Fund would like to thank organiser Doug Clarke, Boavista and all the golfers and sponsors who supported the day. The money will go towards paying for veterinary treatments for animals found abandoned with no owner, or to help people on low income with animals that may be unable to pay for vaccinations. Although the main aim of The Hope Fund is to pay for any type of veterinary treatment, it also pays for and encourages people to neuter their animals.
The Hope Fund is not a refuge and therefore cannot take animals in, but it always has one or two animals seeking new homes.
