A golf tournament at the Costa Esuri Golf Club in Ayamonte on September 12 featured 46 players from Spanish and Portuguese clubs.
The tournament began at 10am with the rules being individual Stapleford and players teeing off the first and tenth holes.
First prize, a weekend at Praia Verde Resort and green fees for two players for a weekend at Calanova Golf course in Malaga, went to Pablo Bores Lazo from Vista Hermosa golf club, who scored 47 points.
Second prize, a weekend at Monte do Casal Hotel and Spa in Estoi, was won by Juan Carl Ojalvo from Layos golf club with 43 points.
The prize for longest drive went to Javier Serrano Mercadill, who also finished third with 41 points.
The prize for ‘closest to the pin’ went to Julian Tunks from Costa Esuri Golf. He finished with 37 points.
After the tournament, a buffet was served while players waited for the prize giving.
Goody bags for all who participated were sponsored by Pastelaria Jardim, Monte Gordo.
Other sponsors for the event included Costa Esuri Golf with Aymerich golf management, Praia Verde Resort, Calanova Golf, Monte do Casal Hotel and Spa, Algarve Manta Properties, EPI car rental and A.H.P Publicidade e Arte Gráfica.
Another similar event is planned for October. Details will be released nearer the date.
