Special golf packages are now being promoted at Colina Verde Golf and Sports Resort at Maragota near Moncarapacho.
Following a large investment in their nine-hole golf course, the resort hopes to attract golfers at all levels.
The newly appointed Director of Golf, Matthew Gatrall, who was a golf professional in Germany for 10 years before moving to the Algarve five years ago, is leading the initiative.
“We are using the best experts available to upgrade and re-invigorate the course. The introduction of a driving range is a new initiative which will prove to be extremely popular,” said Matthew, who has a Golf Management Degree.
Sales Director Fernanda Palminha will be promoting the special packages that Colina Verde has to offer.
On three days a week, a Get-up and Go Golf Morning at €35 will include unlimited balls on the driving range for an hour-and-a-half followed by bacon sandwiches and coffee and a round of golf.
Golfers in the Vilamoura area and other specified destinations are offered a package including transport, coffee on arrival, a round of golf and a buffet lunch for €50.
The Golf Society package will include transport if required, a round of golf with a shotgun start, a buffet lunch including wine, beer and soft drinks and presentation of prizes at €45.
