The Quinta da Marinha Group has signed a contract with the PGA European Tour to host the Open de Portugal golf event for the next three years at Oitavos Golfe in the heart of Lisbon’s Golf Coast.
The event, which was first held at Oitavos Golfe in 2005, will now be home to the tournament under the name of Estoril Open de Golfe until 2009.
The tournament will take place from March 26 until April 1. The first three days will be reserved for competitor training and a pro-am tournament. The official competition begins on March 29.
Over 150 players will be competing to win the 1,250,000 euro prize including Britain’s Paul Broadhurst, who will be returning to try and win the title for the third year in a row.
