Going to the dogs for Goldra

It was a full house for the fundraising quiz held on March 5 in aid of the soon to close Goldra animal shelter, with 36 people taking part in the quiz at the house of Phillip and Verna Kinder.

Quizmaster Christopher New led the quiz with rounds of general knowledge, pictures and the popular music round, with guests enjoying a buffet supper.

A raffle helped to raise further funds for the animal shelter with some interesting items being featured, including a bucket containing 10 litres of horse manure and a rock from the new pier at Weston-Super-Mare.

In total, more than €700 was raised on the night which will now be used to help towards the continued needs of the 14 dogs and 30 cats that remain in the care of Goldra.

The organising committee would like to thank all the competitors and many local businesses, who supported the quiz and for those who were unable to attend another quiz will be held on April 9.
