TEN YEARS after taking his Mineral Wells Texas Choir to Caceres in Spain, Mayor Myron Crawford is bringing his singers to Portimão. They have been invited by Manuel da Luz, President of Portimão Câmara, to perform a charity benefit concert in the city’s Municipal Auditorium on Friday, March 17, at 9.30pm.
Tickets cost 10 euros each, the proceeds to be divided equally between the Bombeiros, the Bom Samaritano Orphanage in Alvor (where the choir will entertain the children) and the International Christian Fellowship (ICF) in Portimão. David Borgan, pastor of ICF, has been responsible for much of the organisation leading up to the proposed visit. The choir will also lead a special ICF Worship Service at 11am on Sunday, March 19, at Avenida 25 de Abril in Portimão, followed by a Victory Banquet at Mariner’s Restaurant.
Tickets can be reserved by calling 282 418 547 or bought from the box office on Thursday, March 16, from 2pm to 8pm, and Friday, March 17, from 2pm until showtime.
Come along and bring your friends; organisers are promising a wonderful night of traditional and contemporary western, gospel and spiritual music. What better way to conclude St. Patrick’s Day?
