Go Conforama! 240 new jobs and €20m promised

In an ambitious masterplan, home decoration and furniture outlet Conforama has announced that it will be opening six new stores in the next three years – offering as many as 240 new jobs and investing a total of €20 million.
And the good news is that it’s planning to go ‘more modern and cosmopolitan’, appealing to the younger public and upgrading current stores in Albufeira, Cascais, Gaia and Amadora.
Around since 1991, Conforama prides itself on its Portuguese suppliers. Director General for Spain and Portugal, Manuel Estévez, said that in the group’s top 10 suppliers, six are Portuguese.
Conforama is owned by the Steinhoff Group, which has 272 stores in seven European countries.
The group has a total of 13,200 staff.
