GNR police agents trained to detect crimes against Algarve’s historical and archaeological heritage

GNR police in the Algarve are to be trained to “detect crimes against the region’s historical and archaeological heritage”.

The initiative follows the signing of a “unique” protocol between the Algarve’s board of culture board and the GNR.

The plan is to have 41 agents from the force’s environmental division, SEPNA, patrolling local monuments and sites of interest, as the culture board does not have enough employees to do this itself .
