GNR police are investigating the death of dozens of fish in the Sousa River in Novelas, Penafiel.
The river, which according to Lusa news agency has previously been used for illegal discharges, was apparently contaminated on Saturday.
Penafiel council filed a complaint against persons unknown, saying it is ready to “collaborate to find the people responsible for this condemnable act”.
