GNR and veterinarian authorities probe wave of animal poisonings in Vila Flor

The tiny community of Sampaio, in the municipality of Vila Flor (Bragança) has been devastated by a wave of animal poisonings: 13 dogs, five cats and two eagles have died agonising deaths so far – and no-one seems to have clue where the poison is coming from. GNR agents and veterinarian authorities are now ‘on the ground’ gathering evidence to try and pinpoint the culprit (or at least the source). As traumatised residents have been saying: “Why are they harming animals?”
