Global aviation suffers

According to the ATAI – International Aviation and Transportation Society – the aviation business could profit between 1.6 and 3.2 thousand million euros this year. An ATAI spokesperson revealed that global aviation travel will rise by seven per cent. He estimated that the sector lost between 3.9 and 5.1 million euros on international routes last year, due to the 2.4 per cent drop in passengers.

The spokesperson revealed that the reason for the loss of passengers might be linked to the Iraqi war and various health scares. In Portugal, TAP airline made a profit of 20 million euros and expects this to rise throughout this year.
