Give a needy child a gift this Christmas

Presents are being collected under the ‘Tree of Love’ in the Galeria Arte Algarve at Lagoa Adega (winery) in aid of the Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor.

A tree has been decorated and named the “Tree of Love” for the children in need this Christmas, and currently has around 30 gifts underneath it.

Visitors to the Lagoa art gallery are being asked to take along a much-needed Christmas present (that should be clearly marked with sex and age references) to donate to one of the 34 children living in the Bom Samaritano home.

Children are aged between two and 18 years and it is asked that the older age group is also considered when donating, as last year many presents were only available for the younger children.

Donations of food for Christmas are also welcome and hygiene products such as deodorant, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

On December 22 at 3.30pm, the International Choir of Aljezur will sing Christmas carols, while several children from the Bom Samaritano home will collect the gifts provided to take back for sharing on Christmas Day.
