Cool Manouche

Gipsy jazz concert in Silves

Enjoy swinging gypsy jazz by popular group Cool Manouche

Cool Manouche will be performing a gypsy jazz concert on Saturday, April 30 at the Mascarenhas Gregório Theatre in Silves at 8pm.

The Cool Manouche style of jazz was originated by Django Reinhardt, the Romani guitarist who took Paris by storm in the nightclubs of the 1930s-50s. “A real foot-tapping rhythm,” say organisers.

The event is being presented by Silves Rotary Club in aid of bringing to life a sensory park for children with learning difficulties in the parish of Armação de Pêra.

Doors will open at 7pm and sparkling wine and snacks will be served before the performance, included in the ticket. The wearing of masks is mandatory.

The ticket is a €25 donation per person. For bookings, contact Sue Butler-Cole on 933 374 865 or email [email protected]. Alternatively contact Maria Carvalho on 916 145 739.
