Get involved with the pantomime

Auditions for the upcoming pantomime staged by the Algarveans Experimental Theatre Group will be taking place on September 20, with all prospective dames, dancers and performers asked to go along and show their stuff.

Now in its 20th year the pantomime continues to amuse audiences of all ages with its traditional, typically British style that sees women playing men, men pretending to be outrageous women and more than a fair share of booing and cheering from the audience.

This year director Jan Sheppeard will be casting for a performance of Aladdin to be staged in February at the Lagoa Auditorium.

The team is looking for actors and for anyone else who would like to be involved backstage.

Greeters, programme sellers, bar assistants, stage hands, prop makers, costume designers and many other skills are all needed.

To audition for a role on stage or to sign up as a helper, please attend the audition at the old cinema in Silves from 7pm on September 20.
