Get into the festive mood at the market

The municipal market in Lagos is holding a Christmas Market on December 11, 12 and 13. It will be a “weekend full of culture, food and traditions “to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

There will be a wide selection of home-made treats such as mince pies, cheeses and chutney, freshly-cooked nibbles, warm spices, and, of course, hot chocolate and mulled wine.

Besides the many stalls of local producers, bakers and traditional artisans, there will be startup businesses showcasing their selected products and services for the festive season.

From local bakers, traditional artisans and local commerce, there will be something for everyone.

Of course, Santa will be there on all three days to find out if you’ve been naughty or nice and take a few photographs, and there will also be a children’s area where they can create their own gifts and Christmas tree decorations.

The market will open at 6pm on Friday and 4pm Saturday and Sunday, and entertainment will include carol singing, performances by Lagos Jazz Orchestra, shows by students from local schools and many more surprises.

At night the market will be the perfect place to hang out, grab a bite and drink, listen to music, and soak in the Christmas spirit.
