The cyberattack last week on the computer systems of medical testing laboratories Germano de Sousa is still making itself felt. Outlets in the north have started a phased reopening, but posts in the south (Lisbon area) remain closed – and sources admit there is no date yet for when this will change. The attack took place in the early hours of last Thursday morning, and has been described (very much like the attack against Vodafone Portugal click here) as “deliberate and criminal, with the objective of causing harm and upsetting activity as well as patients”. There has been no evidence that any patient data has been compromised, however.
