A 52-year-old German arrested last Sunday is in preventive custody awaiting trial on drug trafficking charges.
The Quarteira resident was taken into custody following an alert over “aggressions” at the man’s home.
Inside, a statement from Quarteira GNR reports that police discovered an indoor greenhouse used to grow cannabis plants, 9.5 kilos of the drug (equivalent to 19,000 doses), a complete system of ventilation, irrigation and extraction, fertilizer, bags and other material commonly associated with drug-dealing.
Five cellphones and €430 in cash were also found alongside the compromising haul.
