BARRINGTONS GOLF and Health Spa in Vale do Lobo is currently hosting German Bundesliga team, VfL Wolfsburg for a training camp.
During their visit two private matches were scheduled for the team at the Algarve Stadium, with the first having taken place on Monday this week against Standard Liège of Belgium, who won 2-1.
The second match is against second division German side, Alemanha SV Wacker Burghausen today, January 12, at 3pm.
VfL Wolfsburg features a well-known Portuguese player, defender, Domingos Alexandre Costa, known as “Alex”, who used to play for Benfica and Argentinean defender Facundo Hernan Quiroga, who made his name in Portugal at Sporting.
This is the 12th time VfL Wolfsburg have stayed at Barringtons. Other football clubs, which have recently used Barringtons for their training camps include, Reading FC and Leicester FC.
Cricket teams, Nottingham and Leicester have also been visitors to the golf and health spa.
