TWO GERMAN residents were violently attacked during a burglary at their home near Gorjões, Santa Bárbara de Nexe, in the eastern Algarve on November 23.
A spokesman from Faro GNR told The Resident: “We can confirm that a home near Gorjões was burgled and a middle aged German couple were threatened at gunpoint by some individuals at around 3pm.”
He added: “The couple only suffered light injuries.”
The GNR spokesman confirmed that an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
A neighbour of the victims told The Resident: “The burglary was carried out by four individuals.” This, however, has not been confirmed by the authorities.
As guns were involved in the incident, the GNR spokesman told The Resident that the case is now being investigated by the Polícia Judiciária.
