Couple in 70s discovered in advanced state of decomposition
The bodies of a German couple in their 70s were discovered today in their home in Baleizão (Beja district), after a son living in Germany raised the alarm, having been unable to make contact with his parents for over a month.
Say reports, the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition. Even so, police suspect foul play. SIC television news suggests there “are indications of crime”.
Other news sources explain that the son contacted the German embassy, which in turn ‘actioned’ the visit this morning by the GNR.
For the time being, causes of death are unverified. Due to GNR suspicions, PJ judicial police from Faro are now in charge of the investigation.
The couple, so far unnamed, lived in a ‘quinta’ (farmhouse-type property) on the outskirts of Baleizão.
