Business activity sees ‘significant growth in 2021’

GDP growth revised down to 2.2% this year – OECD

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has revised its forecasts for the Portuguese economy downwards, now pointing to growth of 2.2% this year, 1.2% in 2024 and 2% in 2025. According to the economic outlook update report published today, the organisation has revised the figures from those presented in June, in which it pointed to growth in Portugal’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 2.5% this year and 1.5% in 2024. These forecasts are lower than those most recently released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which predicted growth in the Portuguese economy of 2.3% this year and 1.5% in 2024.
