Around 180 food lovers from Portugal and other parts of Europe will meet in Portimão on Saturday (October 8) for the 17th Chapter and 12th Grand Chapter of the Algarve’s Gastronomic Brotherhood (Confraria dos Gastrónomos do Algarve).
The group, which includes members from Spain, France and Belgium, will be welcomed at 10am by mayoress Isilda Gomes and the CFA founder José Manuel Alves.
At 11.15am, a parade will begin at the town hall and continue towards the São Francisco Xavier church, followed by the brotherhood’s special enthronement ceremony.
A lunch will then be held at the ‘Retiro do Peixe Assado’ restaurant with entertainment provided by Fado singer Raquel Peters and guitar player Vítor do Carmo.
