FOR THE fifth consecutive year, the Associação Empresarial de Almancil (AEA), the Almancil business association, will be organising the town’s enormously popular Quinzena Gastronómica from October 1 to 15. And, in order to get the party started in style, there will be a special entertainment show on October 1 from local artists, Rosette and Nádia.
Each participating restaurant is asked to submit a special menu for the competition, at a set price, which is served during the gastronomic fortnight and judged by the AEA board. Awards are given in the following categories: Best Starter, Best Fish Main Course, Best Meat Main Course, Best Dessert, Best Menu, and Best Quality and Service. The winning restaurants can receive prizes of up to 200 euros in cash as well as framed certificates for their wall.
