The music video-clip Gangnam Style by the South-Korean artist Psy, viewed over a billion times on Youtube, allowed the website to rake in over €6 million in advertising, according to Google.
Google CFO Nikesh Arora confirmed the figures, explaining that the advertising revenue generated by Youtube videos is shared with the content creators.
The worldwide phenomenon Gangnam Style broke the record of Youtube hits last December, surpassing one billion viewings.
