A man suspected of being behind at least 15 robberies in Albufeira was detained by GNR police in Loulé on August 12.
The Court of Albufeira heard his case and found him guilty of six of the crimes.
He has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced.
The alleged leader of an Albufeira based gang is accused of burglaries in Oura, Galé and Açoteias, where televisions, iPods, cash, gold and mobile phones were stolen.
A GNR spokesman told the Algarve Resident that the nine other crimes he is suspected of being involved in are still being investigated.
