‘Gamechanging’ Johnson&Johnson vaccines arrives in Portugal on Wednesday

The gamechanging Johnson&Johnson vaccine (by dint of assuring immunity through a single dose) arrives in Portugal on Wednesday. The first batch is of 30,000 doses. Another advantage of this vaccine is that it can be stored for up to three months in a regular fridge, which facilitates transport and distribution. Further doses are expected later this month (up to 50,000), while political commentator Luís Marques Mendes has said Portugal  contracted 5 million doses of the vaccine even before it was approved by European regulators. The rest of the doses should arrive at various stages through this year.
