Players from the Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis have had an excellent season, recording some great wins. The under-12 team played in the national finals and, after hard-fought matches, finished 10th in Portugal.
The men’s first team easily won the Algarve regional championships, without dropping a set. They also successfully won play-off games against St André (Sines), Barreiro (Lisbon) and Loulé, to gain promotion to the National League division two next year. Congratulations to Serge Inácio (Capt.) Graeme Hulme, Charles Guy, Fintan Steiger and Daniel Davis.
The Algarve Regional Mini Tennis circuit recently concluded, with the masters being played at Vale do Lobo Tournament of Champions. This season-ending tournament was for the top 16 of each age group. Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis was very pleased to have eight players qualify for this event. Marten Möller and Yazzy Duyker, both aged seven, were runners-up in the under 10’s event, and Jay Owen, aged eight, was the winner.
