Portuguese energy company Galp is planning to sink its first exploratory well in Portugal this summer. Located “in the high seas”, 80km off the coast of Sines, it is part of a joint project with Italian company Eni. The objective, CEO Thor E. Kristiansen explained in London earlier this week, is to get a better idea of the likelihood of oil and gas deposits in the Alentejo areas.
