GALP CEO Andy Brown has assured the Web Summit today that the company will be moving forwards with ‘new partnerships in the lithium industry within the next few weeks”. According to Expresso, “for Andy Brown, Portugal has a “gigantic opportunity in lithium as there is no mining or refining of lithium in Europe, but demand for batteries is expected to increase 10-fold between now and 2050”. Portugal is particularly well-positioned, he said, because it is “number one” in this resource in Europe, and eighth worldwide.
