Ricardo Santos’ latest PGA European Tour outing proved to be a roller coaster ride. The Portuguese golf No1 from Faro made the cut at the French Open when he followed an Albatross with three bogeys during the second round only to save himself with a sequence of five birdies.
Thus poised in joint eighth place at the half-way stage, the 29-year-old proceeded to blot his copy book with a disappointing nine-over-par day three effort. A closing score of 74 did not improve matters and Santos now finds himself outside the sport’s top 70 guaranteeing qualification in the Race to Dubai.
