Committed to “inspiring and supporting the future champions of golf”, Quinta do Lago’s Paul McGinley Academy will be welcoming back the resort’s iconic Junior Open Tournament at the Laranjal golf course on December 18 and 19.

According to the resort, “this is a chance to test players’ resilience and skill and to celebrate the great talent of young golf lovers.”

Quinta do Lago has been “at the forefront of European golf since its creation,” the resort says.

Apart from the accolades that the resort and its South Course, which recently underwent a €7 million revamp, have received from the Word Golf Awards, Today’s Golfer magazine has also named Quinta do Lago the Best Golf Resort in Portugal and placed it fifth in the Best Resort in Continental Europe ranking. Quinta do Lago is also among the Top 40 of the Top 100 Best Golf Resorts in the World, a “highly competitive ranking” which also features golf resorts in USA, UK and Asia.

Most recently the resort received the IAGTO (The Global Golf Tourism Association) Sustainability Award for Resource Efficiency.

Meanwhile, Quinta do Lago also has other sports events planned until the end of the year. A Christmas Padel Tournament is scheduled for December 12, as well as a Tennis Family Championship on December 29.
